Dutch Baby Pancake

Breakfast Pancake

A Dutch Baby Pancake is an easy, popover-like breakfast with homemade apple pie filling.

Start by preheating a 10 inch cast-iron skillet in the oven to 425 degrees.

Preheat the Skillet

Combine butter, eggs, egg white, milk, flour, sugar, vanilla, and salt in a blender. Blend well.

Blend the Batter

Remove the skillet from the oven and pour the batter into the skillet. Bake for 15-20 minutes.

Bake the Dutch Baby

Peel and core the apples. Then cut them into cubes and toss them with lemon juice.

Make the Filling

Heat a large skillet and add butter, cinnamon, and nutmeg.

Heat the Skillet

Then add the apples, sugar, and water. Cover with a lid and let simmer.

Cook the Apples

In a small dish, stir the cornstarch and 2 tablespoons of water into a "slurry". Then stir it into the apples.

Add the Cornstarch

Cool the filling, then pour it over the Dutch Baby for a topping.

Enjoy!
