Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 4 boneless pork chops
  • 1 teaspoon sea salt, or to taste
  • ½ teaspoon freshly ground black pepper, or to taste
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • ¼ cup honey
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley chopped, for garnish

Instructions

Pork Chops

  • Season the boneless pork chops with sea salt and freshly ground black pepper on both sides.
  • Heat the olive oil in a large skillet set over medium-high heat.
  • Once the oil is hot, add the seasoned pork chops.
  • Sear the pork chops for about 4 to 5 minutes on each side or until they're nicely browned and cooked through. The internal temperature should reach 145°F.
  • Transfer the cooked pork chops to a plate and cover them with foil to keep warm.

Honey Garlic Sauce

  • In the same skillet, add the unsalted butter.
  • Once the butter has melted, add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1 to 2 minutes until fragrant, stirring frequently.
  • Whisk in the honey and soy sauce, and let the sauce simmer for about 1 to 2 minutes, until it slightly thickens.
  • Drizzle the honey garlic sauce over the cooked pork chops.
  • Garnish with the chopped fresh parsley and serve.

Notes

  • Choosing Pork Chops: This recipe uses boneless pork chops. If you opt for bone-in chops, remember they'll need a bit more cooking time.
  • Honey: Use your favorite honey. The flavor of the honey you love will shine through in this recipe.
  • Checking Doneness: A meat thermometer is essential to ensure your pork chops are perfectly cooked. Aim for an internal temperature of 145°F.
  • Avoid Overcooking: Keep an eye on that meat thermometer! Overcooking pork chops can lead to a dry texture.
  • Resting Time: Let the chops rest while preparing the sauce. This pause allows the juices to settle, enhancing the flavor and juiciness.
