Danish Cookies

You’ve probably seen the store-bought version of these beloved cookies, but they’re actually very easy to make at home!

Cream the Butter and Sugar with a mixer until light and fluffy, about 3-5 minutes.

Cream Butter

Add eggs, extracts, and salt. Beat on high until smooth and thoroughly combined.

Add Eggs

Sift in the flour and mix on low speed until a dough forms. Add a tablespoon of milk and mix until soft and combined.

Add Flour

Spoon the dough into a piping bag fitted with a star tip.  Pipe the dough into small swirls on a baking sheet, then chill for 30 minutes.

Pipe and Chill

Bake the cookies for 12-15 minutes per sheet.  Cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack.

Melt chocolate or candy melts, then dip half of each cookie and decorate with sprinkles. Chill for 15 minutes to set.

These Homemade Butter Cookies are the perfect treat for a chilly afternoon.
