Why You’ll Love These Garlic Butter Mushrooms

  • Goes with everything. These button mushrooms will make any dinner better! Whether they’re served as a side dish or on top of your entree, these garlic butter mushrooms will not disappoint. Seriously – 5 out of 5 would recommend to a friend. This recipe is a must for any serious mushroom lover.
  • That flavor. Garlic butter mushrooms have such a comforting, rich, earthy flavor that enhances so many different meat entrees. Loaded with creamy butter, garlic, and fresh parsley, they give the impression that you’ve slaved over the stove all day – but they really only take 10 minutes! Your family will feel like they’re dining at a high-end steakhouse when you put these bad boys on their plate.
  • Super easy. Have I mentioned these only take 10 minutes to make?! It doesn’t get much easier than this folks!

What You’ll Need

  • Mushrooms: I love button mushrooms for this, but you can use any mushroom variety you’d like.
  • Butter
  • Garlic: Fresh, minced garlic has the best flavor.
  • Salt and pepper
  • Fresh parsley

How to Cook Mushrooms With Garlic Butter

  • Cook the mushrooms. Melt the butter in a large 12-inch skillet over medium-high heat. Add the mushrooms and cook them for 5 to 7 minutes, until they’re nice and golden brown.
  • Add the garlic. Stir in the garlic and season everything with mushrooms with salt and pepper. Continue to cook for 30 seconds, add the parsley, and give it a quick stir.
  • Taste and serve. Remove the skillet from heat, taste a mushroom and add more seasoning if needed. Serve hot and enjoy!

Recipe Tips and Variations

  • The Secret to Perfectly Browned Mushrooms: First, find mushrooms that are of a similar size to ensure even cooking. Rinse them so they don’t get too slimy, and always cook over medium heat. This will ensure the butter doesn’t burn and instead, develops a super flavorful nuttiness. Here’s the most important thing though… DO NOT STIR for the first 4 minutes. Resist the urge. Back away! If you over stir or flip, they won’t brown right.
  • Button mushrooms. I love button mushrooms for this recipe, but shiitakes, baby bellas, or any other kind of mushrooms would be great too!
  • Fresh garlic. In a recipe with only a few ingredients, fresh matters. The fresh garlic adds a punch and flavor bomb that garlic powder just can’t match. Same with the fresh herbs!

Serving Suggestions

Garlic butter mushrooms can be served on the side of almost any meat. I especially like them with grilled flank steak with blue cheese butter, honey garlic pork chops, or on top of a sauteed chicken breast. They are also super yummy served on top of a roast beef or a burger loaded with Swiss cheese! Or for a vegetarian idea, serve them on top of polenta! For something different, consider serving them as an addition to your charcuterie board.

How to Store Leftovers

  • These little bites of button mushroom heaven can easily be stored and reheated. Simply let them cool and place them in an airtight container in your fridge. They will stay nice for about 3 days.
  • To reheat your leftover garlic butter mushrooms, saute them in a skillet over low heat. If they need a little liquid, I recommend adding a tablespoon of broth – beef or chicken depending on what you’ll be serving them with.

Such an easy recipe. It tasted way more better than the restaurant pepper mushroom fry I had few days ago. Your tips had helped a lot. The entire batch of garlic mushroom fry vanished just in minutes in my home.
